The Makenna Foundation’s flagship fundraising event, The Art of Making Miracles, is back to benefit the Kentucky Children’s Hospital. Presented by Paul Miller Ford and sponsored by RE/MAX Creative Realty, The Art of Making Miracles will take place at the R.J. Corman Hangar in Nicholasville on Sept. 10.

For over 15 years, the Makenna Foundation has served the children of Central Kentucky. The Art of Making Miracles, at one time the foundation’s largest fundraising event, is back by popular demand. The Art of Making Miracles will feature live music from Swing Street, food and drinks from local restaurants, distilleries, wineries, and breweries, and a live and silent auction. The event aims to raise money to complete the Makenna David Pediatric Welcome Center at the Kentucky Children’s Hospital, which will make the hospital a more welcoming, less scary place for children, adults, and caretakers.

“Children are our focus. You can’t say no to children,” said Sheila David, executive director of the Makenna Foundation. “We’re committed to raising support for the children’s hospitals so that when they need it, it’s already there.”

All proceeds benefit the Kentucky Children’s Hospital. Tickets can be purchased at artofmakingmiracles.com.

 About the Makenna Foundation

Following the loss of their daughter, Makenna, to a rare lung disease, Sheila and her husband Greg created the Makenna Foundation in 2001. The foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization facilitating hope, joy and courage for children facing life-threatening trauma and illness at the Kentucky Children’s Hospital. Since its founding, the foundation has raised more than $1.6 million for the hospital. Achievements include the Makenna David Pediatric Emergency Center, the only 24-hour pediatric emergency and trauma care center in the region and the only one in the state verified as a pediatric Level I trauma center by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma.
