provision-livingProvision Living has announced the company hired Carla Guthrie for the position of family support mentor as part of its management team.

Guthrie, a resident of Lexington, brings to the position more than 18 years’ experience in dementia care.

Barry Brinegar, community relations manager for Provision Living, said, “Carla is very well regarded within the memory care community in Lexington so it’s a big win for us to have her join our team. Her past management experience and knowledge about dementia care will certainly be an asset to our community, residents and their families.”

In her new role as family support mentor, Guthrie will help families with disease education, community resources, care options and consultation. There she held various senior-level positions in which she was responsible for developing programs, managing and training staff, and providing support, mentoring and guidance to the executive directors in her market area. Guthrie was a key contributor in driving resident occupancy and creating resident-focused, high-commitment work teams to support the organization.

Guthrie also previously worked as a program manager for the Best Friends Adult Day Program for the Alzheimer Association of Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana. She was awarded Professional Caregiver of the Year in 2013 by the Alzheimer Association of Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana, an award based on peer nomination.
