Saturday Dec 1

santa claus with elderly womanSanta is coming to The Willows at Hamburg on Saturday, December 1 at 9 am. There is a pancake breakfast, Santa pictures, and a stroll around the campus to look at decorations. They will also be taking donated toys for the Toys for Tots program.

 

Santa’s Workshop is opening at the Hamburg Pavilion on December 1. Stop by for photos with Santa, or cocoa and stories with Mrs. Claus every weekend in December leading up to Christmas.

 

The 12th annual Lexington Junior League Holly Day Market, presented by Traditional Bank, is at the Lexington Convention Center December 1 and 2.

 

EKU Center for the Arts hosts Harry Connick, Jr. on Saturday, December 1 from 7:30 pm to 10 pm. Registration is required.

 

Southland Church hosts their annual Help-Portrait event on Saturday, December 1 from 9 am to 4 pm. The portraits will be held at the Richmond Road Campus.

 

Ashland, the Henry Clay Estate hosts “A Kentucky Christmas” on Saturday, December 1. Shop at an outdoor Christmas market, take photos with Santa, tree lighting, and take a candlelight tour of the mansion. Festivities begin at 1 pm.

 

Wellward Regenerative Medicine is hosting Photos with Santa on Saturday, December 1 at 11 am.

 

UK men’s basketball plays UNC Greensboro on Saturday, December 1 at 4 pm at Rupp Arena.

 

The Kentucky Reptile Expo is at the Lexington Convention Center on Saturday, December 1 from 10 am to 4 pm.

 

Connie Handman is signing her book “Kristie’s Crazy Christmas” on December 1 at Hamburg Barnes and Noble at 1 pm.

 

Sunday Dec 2

The Kentucky Blood Center Bloodmobile is going to be at Northeast Christian Church on Sunday, December 2 from 9 am to 1 pm.

 

Bob Willcutt is signing his book “Feathers of Fayette” on December 2 at Hamburg Barnes and Noble.

 

Tuesday Dec 4

The Lexington Christmas Parade will march down Main Street from Midland Avenue to Mill Street on Tuesday, December 4 starting at 7 pm. The parade will feature festive floats, local organizations, marching bands and Santa Claus.

 

The Kentucky Children’s Hospital is having their annual Acoustic Jam benefit on Tuesday, December 4 at 7:30 pm at the Lexington Opera House.

 

Wednesday Dec 5

Halestorm + In This Moment performs at Rupp Arena on Wednesday, December 5 at 6:45 pm.

 

Thursday Dec 6

Trans-Siberian Orchestra presents “The Ghosts of Christmas Eve” at Rupp Arena on Thursday, December 6 at 7:30 pm. The rock opera features fan-favorites O Come All Ye Faithful, Good King Joy, Christmas Canon, Music Box Blues, Promises To Keep, and more.

 

Kendra Scott is hosting a Kendra Scott Gives Back Party on Thursday, December 6 from 5 pm to 8 pm. There will be champagne, hors d’oeuvres, and of course shopping that will support the Lexington Public Library Foundation.

 

Friday Dec 7

Alabama is performing at Rupp Arena on Friday, December 7 at 6:30 pm.

 

Saturday Dec 8

Pancakes with Santa benefitting Visually Impaired Preschool Services (VIPS) is Saturday, December 8 at 9 am at Forcht Bank in Hamburg, 2404 Sir Barton Way.  

 

YMCA’s 13th annual Reindeer Ramble 5k/10k run and fun walk is Saturday, December 8 at Keeneland. You may register as an individual runner/walker or with a group as a Santapede team. Teams can range from 3 -10 participants. There’s one hitch—you have to be linked together with a garland or ribbon throughout the entire race. This option is only available for the 5K.

 

Man O’War Harley-Davidson welcomes Santa for holiday pictures on Saturday, December 8 from 11 am to 2 pm.

 

EKU Center for the Arts hosts “A Magical Cirque Christmas” featuring magic, circus acts, and favorite Christmas carols with live musicians on stage on December 8 at 7:30 pm.

 

Athens Schoolhouse Holiday Antiques Show is December 8 and 9 from 10 am to 5 pm. The schoolhouse will be filled with vintage trees, ornaments, sleigh bells, sleds, vintage skis, snowshoes and more. The Gingerbread House will also be here serving complimentary cider and cookies to guests.

 

Ashland, the Henry Clay Estate hosts a Candlelight Open House Tour on Saturday, December 8 at 5:30 pm. The theme is “Silver Bells and Wedding Belles.”

 

Margo Smith is signing her book “The Lost Bone: And the Found Sister” on December 8 at Hamburg Barnes and Noble.

 

Snoop Dogg is performing at Rupp Arena on Saturday, December 8 at 7 pm.

 

Sunday Dec 9

Hamburg Pavilion is offering Horse and Carriage rides around the pavilion on Sunday, December 9, 16, and 23 from 1 pm to 4 pm.

 

Shelly King is signing her book “I Love Your to Pluto and Back” on December 9 at Hamburg Barnes and Noble.

 

Piper Pals Petcare & Photography is hosting Santa Paws for Pals evening at Southern Barker on Sunday, December 9 at 6 pm.

 

The Lexington Fraternal Order of Firefighters (FOF) hosts a chili cook-off and auction on Sunday, December 9 at noon. Proceeds benefit the Lexington FOF’s Toy Program.

The Lexington Convention Center is hosting a Scholastic Book Fair Monday, December 10 through Thursday, December 13.

Lexington Habitat for Humanity Benefit Concert featuring the music of Pink Floyd and Big Star is December 14 at 9 pm at Pam Miller Downtown Arts Center/Black Box Theater, 141 E. Main St.
