Kentucky American Water was recognized recently by the Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection’s KY EXCEL program for exemplary efforts in environmental stewardship. KY EXCEL — the Kentucky Excellence in Environmental Leadership program — is coordinated by the Department of Environmental Protection Division of Compliance Assistance.
KY EXCEL presented the company with a Beacon Award in resource support for its partnership with Bluegrass Greensource, a regional environmental education organization, to provide educational workshops on water conservation and watershed protection that also enabled participants to make rain barrels for their own use.
