The Eastside Branch of the Lexington Public Library will host a Frozen Dance Party Wednesday, Aug. 3 at 11 a.m. The event is open for kids ages 2-6 and will be held in the Children’s Program Room.

AUG 4

Learn the basics of creating your costume and how to get started cosplaying during this workshop at the Eastside Branch of the Lexington Public Library. The workshop will be held in the Makerspace, Aug. 4 from 6 until 7:30 p.m.

The workshop will also be held Aug. 12 and 17.

AUG 18

Kids, ages 2-6, are invited to the “Too Cool for School Preschool Dance Party” Come shake, wiggle, and boogie to fun music for preschoolers. The dance will be held Thursday, Aug. 18 from 11 to 11:45 a.m. in the large conference room of the Eastside Branch of the Lexington Public Library.

AUG 20

Junior Naturalists program, which will meet  Saturday, Aug. 20 at 10 a.m. at McConnell Springs, is designed for elementary aged visitors (youth K through fifth grade) who want to explore the park and get a chance to complete an art project, all in the same tour. This month, organizers will focus on butterflies and dragonflies. Call 225-4073 to register.

AUG 27

The Eastside Branch of the Lexington Public Library will host a  Saturday Drop-In Craft Program for all children Aug. 27 in the Children’s Program Room.  Stop by the library any time between 11 a.m. to  3 p.m. to check out few books and and make a small craft to take home.

The Little Explorers program at Raven Run Nature Sanctuary is designed for elementary-aged visitors who want to explore the park and get a chance to complete an art project, all in the same tour. The August session will be held Saturday, Aug. 27 at 10 a.m. and will focus on butterflies. Organizers will supply all the equipment for trail explorations, as well as art supplies needed to complete the project. Call 272.6105 to register for this program.

AUG. 28

The Eastside Branch of the Lexington Public Library will host an ACT practice test Sunday, Aug. 28 at 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sharpen test-taking skills for the ACT exam by taking a free Kaplan ACT Practice Test. Each student will receive a comprehensive performance analysis and full explanations for the test.  E-mail Kaplan coordinator Steve.Bartley@Kaplan.com to register.  Registration is required through Kaplan.
