Last night many families lined Main Street to watch the Christmas Parade and see Santa usher in the holiday season. It was a cool 33 degrees, but that didn’t stop all the kids from smiling and laughing while they collected candy.

The parade in all lasted about 45 minutes, but it was a fun-filled 45 minutes. Bryan Station High School and Lafayette High School are just few of the marching bands that participated in the parade. They played classic Christmas songs to keep the audience in the mood and get them ready for Santa.

Many companies throughout Lexington participated in the parade and created floats. There were even construction bulldozers that were decorated with garland and lights.

The kids really enjoyed that part of the parade.

The Big man himself closed out the show with a lovely gingerbread house and young elves in the workshop. Santa was as jolly as you’d expect, even with the cold. Kids waved and squealed and laughed when he went by.

Another successful parade in the books for Lexington. Until the next one everybody.
