My Favorite Things Christmas Open House is November 1 through 3. There will be food all three days. Local cookbook author Barbara Bach will be there with her newest cookbook.

The 2018 National Horse Show is at the Kentucky Horse Park November 1 through 4.

On November 1, the “Night of the Angels”, the Living Arts & Science Center will present the 11th annual Day of the Dead Festival with a celebration at the Living Arts & Science Center as well as at the Old Episcopal Burying Ground at the corner of E. 3rd Street and Elm Tree Lane.

Joni Mitchell Tribute Concert at First Presbyterian. This concert is part of the Music for Mission series, and will be benefiting KY Refugee Ministries.


Saturday, November 10

Lexington Habitat for Humanity Benefit Concert featuring Silverback is November 10 at Equus Run Vineyards.

Lexington Women’s Health Mixmas Market benefitting Refuge for Women is November 10 at Crossroads Andover. Get your picture with Santa, catch a matinee movie, and get an early start on holiday shopping.

Ventriloquist and comedian Jeff Dunham performs at Rupp Arena on November 10.

The Lexington Veterans Day Parade is November 10 in downtown Lexington at 1 pm. The parade is produced by the City of Lexington and sponsored by VRUCK – the Veterans Resource United Central/Southeastern Kentucky.

The Ninth Annual Bowls of Steel Chili Cook-Off at Man O War Harley Davidson is on Saturday, November 10 from noon until 2 pm. $10 to enter the competition, $5 to eat and be a judge. The registration fee goes to help local veterans, in honor of Veterans Day. The contestant with the most votes wins a cash prize and their name on a plaque in Service! Prizes are awarded to the top 3 cooks.

Enjoy traditional, gourmet, and inventive dishes — family style — at a Big Green Egg Thanksgiving Cooking Class at Wilson Nurseries (Frankfort) on November 10. This is a ticketed event.

Harmony Day Montessori School is hosting an Open House on Sunday, November 11 from 4:30 to 6 pm. Hoops for Hope to benefit the Hope Center is November 13 at Rupp Arena. Teams compete against other corporate and community teams in fundraising and five minute shootouts at Rupp.
