Aviation Camp at The Aviation Museum of Kentucky

Learn the history of aviation and investigate the principles of flight while practicing on a flight simulator. Campers will also explore the museum and airport and get a behind-the-scenes look at airport operations. They will also help plan and conduct a flight over Kentucky in a 4-seat aircraft with an FAA approved pilot.

Awesome, Inc. U – Kids Code Camp – #WeekOfCode

Instead of your kids spending their free time playing apps, what if they spent it learning to write them? This camp for middle and high school students will teach the fundamentals of coding. Students will create websites, mobile apps, and learn to design video games all while having fun with our energetic team. By the end of the week, each student will have built at least one webpage, mobile app, and video game using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Android, and Unity 3D. We keep this camp small to ensure everyone gets very focused attention and learns at their own pace. Prepare to be amazed!

Bricks 4 Kidz

Bricks 4 Kidz classes provide an extraordinary atmosphere for children, where we learn, we build, we play… with LEGO® bricks. Programs are built around our proprietary model plans, designed by engineers and architects. Campers are welcome to sign up for morning and afternoon sessions and bring a lunch. Work is done is rotating stations of four kids per group model building with instructions, creative/free play, mosaics, games, crafts and/or activities. Broadway Bound

A unique musical theatre training opportunity for students in Lexington and surrounding areas, Broadway Bound offers classes in voice, dance, and drama, culminating in a fantastic Broadway-revue final program. Students will have opportunities to learn music from professional voice coaches, and to work with talented directors and choreographers who will challenge and inspire them to gain confidence and skill in artistic expression. Sullivan University Culinary Camp and Baking and Pastry Arts Camp

Pursue your passion for cooking and baking under the guidance of experienced chef instructors at one of the best hospitality schools in the nation. This camp is designed for high-school students and takes place at the Sullivan University campus. During the day, students will work side by side with master chefs, creating succulent dishes in preparation for the graduation celebration with their families at the end of camp. Talk About Fun! (Speech and Language Summer Clinic)

These clinics are designed for children with mild to moderate articulation, phonological, and language delays or deficits and will provide enrichment and maintenance of speech and language skills. Each week will incorporate a theme to target various skills, including building vocabulary, grammatical concepts, literacy skills, and phonological processes. UK Area Health Education Center Summer Enrichment Program (SEP) and Health Researcher Youth Academy (HRYA)

The UK Area Health Education Center hosts two residential camps. The SEP is for those rising juniors, who are interested in pursuing a career in health sciences. Students will take classes in biology, chemistry and physics and work on preparing for these possible careers. The HRYA is for rising seniors, and those students will learn about physiology and research methods in health sciences. On the last day of camp, students will complete a poster presentation about the research they conducted.

UK Women in Engineering Summer Workshop Series

UK’s Women in Engineering Summer Workshop Series is for female students who are considering engineering as a possible major and career. Particpants in the competitive workshops will explore the world of engineering with UK faculty members and students through hands-on experiments in a collegiate environment. The goal of the workshop is to provide young women with knowledge and support for their decision to pursue engineering as a course of study in college.

Wild Thyme Cooking School Kids Cooking Camp

Weekly-themed cooking camps are catered to specific age groups. Cooking school camp is taught by professionally trained chefs and includes all materials needed for instruction. Programming at each camp will include food safety, kitchen safety principles, how to operate kitchen equipment and gadgets, properly prep, store and serve food as well receive food education, food identification and culinary instruction including history and culture of dishes in addition to dining etiquette. This is the most important thing to understand about the Reds Baseball and Softball Camps. It doesn’t matter if your athlete is six and picking up a bat for the first time or 14 and is a stud shortstop for the Tri-State’s top travel team. This camp will profoundly improve each player’s ability to play the game.

The summer camp will be coached by a member of Challenger’s British coaching staff flown to the U.S. exclusively to work on these programs. In addition to taking part in a daily regime of foot skill development, technical and tactical practices and daily World Cup tournament style plays, each child will be treated to a rich cultural experience and lessons on respect, responsibility, integrity, leadership and sportsmanship. Camp Midway – Equine “Behind the Ears” Camp (co-ed)

The Equine “Between the Ears” Camp is for beginners to intermediate riding levels. Campers will learn the basics about how care for a horse and will be involved in riding and non-riding activities.

Woodford County 4-H Summer Camp will take place July 11-15 at Feltner 4-H Camp in London, Kentucky. Summertime Fun Project Days are day camps scattered throughout June and July that teach skills such as photography, sewing, woodworking, entomology and cooking.

Life Adventure Center

Military Teen Adventure Camps

The University of Kentucky Family and Consumer Sciences Extension is once again offering free camps for military parents and their teenage children, ages 14-18, to attend together.

Ages: 14 – 18 (Camps are open to military parents, or spouse if military parent cannot attend, and their teenage children–ages 14-18–from any state and from any branch of the military. First priority will go to military parents/children who have experienced at least one deployment and who are geographically dispersed.)

Camp Shalom

Camp Shalom is the only Jewish summer day camp in the central Kentucky area. The non-denominational program provides a safe and comfortable setting for children from all backgrounds and streams of Judaism to come together and learn about Jewish culture, history, and identity regardless of their individual background or level of observance. Camp is open to children of all religions. Camp activities include: water games, nature, sports, art, games and chugim (daily electives that each camper will choose often including nature or science, cooking, art, sports, dance, drama and more). At the end of each week, parents are invited to join us for an open house where we will share in a Shabbat experience, have a brief talent show, and hear a summary of our week together by the staff.The Gesher group has the option of going on a trip to visit Camp Livingston in Bennington, Indiana between sessions for a full weekend Shabbat sleep-away camp experience ($80 fee applies).

Instead of your kids spending their free time playing apps, what if they spent it learning to write them? This camp for middle and high school students will teach the fundamentals of coding. By the end of the week, each student will have built at least one webpage, mobile app, and video game using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Android, and Unity 3D. Bricks 4 Kidz

Bricks 4 Kidz classes provide an extraordinary atmosphere for children, where we learn, we build, we play… with LEGO® bricks. Talk About Fun! (Speech and Language Summer Clinic)

These clinics are designed for children with mild to moderate articulation, phonological, and language delays or deficits and will provide enrichment and maintenance of speech and language skills. UK Area Health Education Center Summer Enrichment Program (SEP) and Health Researcher Youth Academy (HRYA)

The UK Area Health Education Center hosts two residential camps. The SEP is for those rising juniors, who are interested in pursuing a career in health sciences. Students will take classes in biology, chemistry and physics and work on preparing for these possible careers. The HRYA is for rising seniors, and those students will learn about physiology and research methods in health sciences. On the last day of camp, students will complete a poster presentation about the research they conducted.

UK’s Women in Engineering Summer Workshop Series is for female students who are considering engineering as a possible major and career. Wild Thyme Cooking School Kids Cooking Camp

Weekly-themed cooking camps are catered to specific age groups. Cooking school camp is taught by professionally trained chefs and includes all materials needed for instruction. The summer camp will be coached by a member of Challenger’s British coaching staff flown to the U.S. exclusively to work on these programs. At Camp All-Stars, children experience a summer full of exciting activities. They create lasting memories while building strong bonds of friendship. Whether they are busy creating a work of art at the center or having a blast on a field trip, our main goal is fun! Children are entertained all summer long with different field trips and activities such as: Explorium, Evan’s Orchard, Legends Ballgame, Mad Potter and much more.

Camp Curiosity – The Lexington School

Children are given the opportunity to create a personalized, independent schedule selecting from a wide variety of activities such as sports, art, and drama. Embracing The Lexington School’s mission and philosophy, Camp Curiosity provides a supportive, nurturing atmosphere, which encourages children to grow socially, physically, and mentally. With a sprawling outdoor campus including a creek and four beautiful athletic fields, we are ready to have a great summer indoors and out!

Camp Midway – Girl Power! Camp

Midway College has been focused on developing leadership skills and empowering young women for more than 165 years. These week-long day camps will focus on developing independence, building self-confidence and teaching girls to be leaders through a wide variety of fun, hands-on activities. Lexington Parks & Recreation

Lexington Parks & Recreation offers nine different day camps, in addition to organized sports teams and swimming/diving lessons over the summer. Programs range from outdoor activities, arts, equestrian, sports, swimming and extended school programming. Their comprehensive summer camps guide will be available at the UK Summer Camps Fair.

Life Adventure Center

Give your child the summer of a lifetime! Life Adventure Center’s co-ed day camp (grades 2 – 9) offers horse riding, canoeing, swimming, fishing, archery, climbing and tons of outdoor fun, guided by a highly trained and certified staff. But more than just having fun, your child will develop new friends, confidence and team building – skills for life! The beautiful 575 acre facility is conveniently located 30 minutes west of Lexington in Versailles and includes indoor and outdoor riding arenas, a sparking pond for boating, fishing and swimming, a challenge course with climbing tower and zip lines, an archery range, a spacious outdoor pavilion, a 3,500 square foot air-conditioned assembly building, miles of trails and more! ACA acredited.

Military Teen Adventure Camps

The University of Kentucky Family and Consumer Sciences Extension is once again offering free camps for military parents and their teenage children, ages 14-18, to attend together.

Type of Camp: Overnight

Ages: 14 – 18 (Camps are open to military parents, or spouse if military parent cannot attend, and their teenage children–ages 14-18–from any state and from any branch of the military. First priority will go to military parents/children who have experienced at least one deployment and who are geographically dispersed.)

Dates: March 25 – 27 and April 8 – 11 (additional dates TBD)

Our PlayHouse Preschool Summer Explorations

Lexington, Kentucky

Summer camps at Our PlayHouse encourage hands-on learning as children explore their interests in the indoor and outdoor classrooms. Each session of camp will focus on students’ interests within the topics of wild animals, art and invention, stories and tall tales, and scientific discoveries. Topics will include a curriculum based on daily sensory, art, building and movement activities, along with plenty of outdoor play!

Sayre’s unique downtown Lexington location makes field trips to attractions rich in history and arts an integral part of the program. The themes and activities vary from week to week, and there is no repetition of the material covered. Summer Safari is a state licensed program that may be enjoyed for one week or any number of weeks.

Blue Grass Christian Camp (not attending the Summer Camps Fair in person)

Bluegrass Christian Camp offers a variety of summer camp options in a fun and exciting environment. Power Kids Day Camp is a fun and exciting introduction to camp life at Blue Grass. Campers experience a whirlwind of activities, including pool time, Bazooka Ball, paddle boats, zip lines, the giant swing and numerous other favorite camp games. Day Camp also incorporates a missions element into the day where kids are introduced to different organizations that help people from around the world. Accelerate is an opportunity to learn more about God while enjoying the high adventure course, giant swing, pamper pole, zip line, human foosball, bumper ball soccer, pool time, canoes, carpetball, 9squareintheair, and much more. Crazy camp games and themed parties, as well as, relevant worship and engaging speakers fill the evenings. 7/11 Camp is the perfect first overnight experience with trained staff ready to assist every need of these elementary campers. Daily activities include the giant swing,  zip line, human foosball, pool time, canoes, carpetball, 9squareintheair, and much more. Crazy camp games with Jiggy (our crazy mascot), themed parties, as well as, engaging drama with illusions help tell the gospel story fill the evenings. Often described as the best week of the summer, this camp is generally full in mid-March.

Camp Feathers at Lexington Christian Academy

Feathers wants you to join him this summer for some fun in the sun. Camp Feathers is new and improved, and you won’t want to miss all the exciting things going on. Campers will enjoy a jam‐packed, adventure filled, ministry led summer camp! Open to all children in the community, Camp Feathers will offer exciting themes each week that campers will explore through science, art, music, and so much more. Campers will also enjoy worship time and visits to the Children’s Garden and the Arboretum. The camp staff is comprised of a wonderful group of Christian role models who will encourage your children to be their best all summer. Camp Shalom

Camp Shalom is the only Jewish summer day camp in the central Kentucky area. The non-denominational program provides a safe and comfortable setting for children from all backgrounds and streams of Judaism to come together and learn about Jewish culture, history, and identity regardless of their individual background or level of observance. Camp is open to children of all religions. Camp activities include: water games, nature, sports, art, games and chugim (daily electives that each camper will choose often including nature or science, cooking, art, sports, dance, drama and more). At the end of each week, parents are invited to join us for an open house where we will share in a Shabbat experience, have a brief talent show, and hear a summary of our week together by the staff.The Gesher group has the option of going on a trip to visit Camp Livingston in Bennington, Indiana between sessions for a full weekend Shabbat sleep-away camp experience ($80 fee applies).
