Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana (OKI) celebrated the official launch of their Lexington, KY office on Thursday Feb 28, at Carson’s Food and Drink. Lexington Mayor, Linda Gorton, provided opening welcome remarks and attendees heard from local WISH families whose children have benefited from the granting of a wish.

Senior Development Officer Faith Hacker states, “Every year, children battling critical illness in Kentucky are granted their heartfelt wish. But, for every wish brought to life, there is another child waiting to experience the transformational power of a wish. Currently across Kentucky there are 403 kids waiting for a wish. We need the community’s support to help us grant these wishes, which is why we are so proud to open the new office Lexington and give every child the opportunity to experience a life-changing wish.”

Kaylee fulfilling her wish was to go to a UK basketball game.

Make-A-Wish OKI also announced a special fundraising initiative, W.I.S.H. 100 (Women Inspiring Strength & Hope), which is a group of 100+ women who will raise tens of thousands of dollars to grant local wishes to benefit Central and Eastern Kentucky wishes on Thursday, May 9.
