Are there any new restaurants coming to the Hamburg Area in 2019? Are there new restaurants opening? Below is a comprehensive list of new things coming to the Hamburg/Richmond Road area.

On Richmond Road, a Lexington’s first LaRosa’s Pizzeria is set to open in 2019. The restaurant was supposed to open in Summer 2018, but was delayed due to the opening of Skyline Chili. One Holland Corp., Cincinnati-based owners, pushed back the opening in order to expand the capacity of LaRosa’s due to increasing community excitement.

First Watch on Richmond Road is moving across the street to join Skyline and LaRosa’s. One Holland Corp. is franchise owner of all three restaurants.

In early 2019, Chuy’s Mexican Grill will open a new location in Hamburg. The Elvis-themed restaurant is taking over the old Applebee’s on Alysheba Way. This is Chuy’s second location in Lexington with the other near Cinemark movie theater off Nicholasville Road.

A new diner is coming to Winchester Road, where Great China stands. Lucy Jones, daughter of former Gov. Brereton and Libby Jones, is restoring a mid-century modern building and opening a 1950’s style diner. Diner will serve vegan foods, plant-based burgers, shakes, sandwiches, and ice cream.

Total Wine & More is opening it’s doors in Hamburg in late 2019. The new liquor store is taking over the former Gordman’s location. A permit was issued for a new establishment in February 2018. Total Wine first opened in Lexington in April of 2018 in the Lexington Green Mall.
