Spring Break with LFUCG

If the plan for Spring Break is to stay home in Lexington, then LFUCG has a few ideas to share. Both Raven Run and McConnell Springs are having youth activities throughout spring break to keep the older ones entertained. There is fishing at Jacobson Park, Hiking at Veterans Park, Hiking at Raven Run, Legacy Trail, the Pam Miller Downtown Arts Center, and Black Box Theater, just to name a few options. It’s also a great time to get your kites ready for Kitefest at Masterson Station on Saturday, April 20.

 

Outdoor Adventure Camp at Jacobson Park

Lexington Adventure Programs is offering a half-day camp during FCPS spring break. These camps will take place from 9 am – 1 pm on April 3, 4 and 5 at Camp Kearney at Jacobson Park. Registration is available through the Parks & Recreation website.

Youth Soccer Camp

Frederick Douglass High School offers Boys and Girls Youth Soccer Camp for ages 5 to 13. The camp runs June 10 through 13 from 6 to 8:30 pm at Frederick Douglass High School.

The 20th Annual Maternity Fair, presented by the Women’s Hospital at Saint Joseph East, is Saturday, April 27 from 9 am to 12:30 pm. Enjoy helpful demonstrations from maternity experts, meet MaKenzie Thomas from The Voice!, and enter for a chance to win a FREE delivery at the Women’s Hospital at Saint Joseph East. The Maternity Fair is at Marriott Griffin Gate, 1800 Newtown Pike.

 

Henry Clay Senior Winner in State Essay Contest

A senior at Henry Clay High School wins the statewide 12th-grade Secretary of State’s 30th annual essay contest. Find out who that local winner is.

 

Lexington Children’s Theater Receives National Honors

Lexington Children’s Theater was honored with the United States Institute for Theatre Technology, Inc. with the Thomas DeGaetani Award. This award honors an outstanding lifetime contribution to the performing arts/entertainment industry by an individual or a performing arts/entertainment-focused organization.
