Toddler Time will be held Thursday, Sept. 1 from 11 to 11:30 a.m. at the Eastside branch of the Lexington Public Library. The program features books, music, and activities that encourages literacy, math, science, and social skills followed by an art activity or story- related project. FRIDAY, SEP. 2

The Eastside branch of the Lexington Public Library will host “Baby Jam” every Tuesday and Friday at 10:15 to 10:45 a.m or 11 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 2. This fun and energetic lapsit story time develops pre-reading skills with books, songs, and activities, and promotes budding social skills and child-caregiver interaction. For ages 0-24 months.

TUESDAY, SEP.. 6

Barnes and Noble in Hamburg presents Tuesday Morning Storytime Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 11 a.m. for children and caregivers. Stop in each Tuesday morning for a fun-filled storytime with a craft/activity to follow.

WEDNESDAY, SEP. 7

There will be preschool storytime every Wednesday in September at the Eastside branch of the Lexington Public Library. There will be fun stories, songs, and activities that promote literacy, math, and science skills. Storytime will begin at 11 a.m. each Wednesday in the  Children’s Program Room.

SATURDAY, SEP.. 10

Barnes and Noble in Hamburg will host an Ada Twist, Scientist Storytime on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 11 a.m . Ada Twist, Scientist is about the power of curiosity in the hands of a child who is on a mission to use science to understand her world.

MONDAY SEP. 12

Jump Baby Jump, a program of music and playtime for young toddlers, ages 18-30 months, will be held Monday, Sept. 12 from 10:30 to 11 a.m. and again from 11 to 11:30 a.m. at the Eastside Branch of the Lexington Public Library.

TUESDAY, SEP. 13

Little Leonardos, an art and science exploration program for toddlers and preschoolers using a variety of materials and methods, will be held Tuesday, Sept. 13 from 2 until 2:45 p.m. at the Children’s Program Room in the Eastside Branch of the Lexington Public Library. Please dress to be messy. The event is held for ages 2-5 with caregvier. Registration begins on Aug 30.  This event requires registration through a library staff member. Contact a library staff member at 859.231.5500 to register.

SATURDAY, SEP. 17

A Super Smash Bros Tournament will be held Saturday, Sept. 17 from 2 until 3:30 p.m. at the Eastside Branch of the Lexington Public Library. Middle and high schoolers are encouraged to come out, show your skills and brawl your way to the top of the leaderboard. Entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The tournament is open to  teens and tweens in grades 6-12 only.

Barnes and Noble in Hamburg will host Curious George Storytime Saturday Sept. 17, starting at 11 a.m. The date marks the 75th birthday of everyone’s favorite monkey – Curious George. There will be activities and other special events.

Visit Barnes and Noble in Hamburg for the third-annual Batman Day celebrating the Dark Knight’s endearing legacy. The event will include activities, trivia, coloring and much more. Cosplay is welcome. Events begin at 2 p.m.

SATURDAY, SEP. 24

There will be drop-in chess play Saturday, Sept. 24 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Eastside Branch of the Lexington Public Library. Learn chess basics, meet other chess players, and play pick-up games. All skill levels welcome and the event is designed for ages 8 and up.

TUESDAY, SEP. 27

Upcycle a favorite old t-shirt into a brand new tote bag – without sewing a stitch, Bring a shirt or choose from their selection to the Eastside Branch of the Lexington Public Library Tuesday, Sept. 27 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The event is open to grades 7-12.
