The first Canine Companions for Independence facility dog in the state of Kentucky has joined the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Lexington team.  Matilda, a yellow Labrador, will assist handler Liz Noffsinger during her work with CASA children. This match marks a first for the state of Kentucky in receiving a Canine Companions for Independence facility dog.

Saturday, November 3

Come out to Feeders Supply on Richmond Road the first Saturday of every month to meet the adoptable Greyhounds of Bluegrass Greyhound Adoption.

 

The Iroquois Hunt celebrates the Traditional Blessing of the Hounds on Saturday, November 3.

 

Eastside Library hosts “Dog Treat and Toys” on November 3. Make a dog toy, make all-natural dog treats, and enjoy dog-themed arts and crafts.

 

Southern Barker celebrates their 1st birthday with a “Barksday Bash” on November 3.

 

Wednesday, November 7

Brighton Animal Clinic Beginner Agility Group Class begins on November 7. The class meets on Wednesday evenings, dogs must have taken a group basic obedience class and be a minimum of 8 months old.

 

Saturday, November 10

Woodford Humane Society debuts their 2019 calendar at “Sniff ‘n’ Mingle” on November 10 at The Local Wag.

 

Saturday, November 17

The Greatest Show on Earth: Beastie Ball 2018 is November 17 at Griffin Gate Marriott. Mingle with animal lovers and community members while bidding on live and silent auction items, proceeds benefit the Lexington Humane Society.

 

Saturday, November 24

Shaker Village’s traditional event featuring a blessing of the hounds, riders and the fox, followed by the first meet of the formal hunting season is November 24.
