Holly Hill Inn in Midway offers their annual Aphrodisiacs seven-course dinner. Entrees include prime beef loin, black cod, scallops amandine, and a fried stuffed eggplant. Call or go online for reservations.

Honeywood at Fritz Farm offers cajun-inspired specials, including an 8-ounce beef filet, shrimp and lobster étouffée, vegetable gumbo, and shrimp and avocado Garibaldi. Dinner starts at 5 pm. Call or go online for reservations.

J. Render’s offers a three-course dinner for two. Choose two entrees which include soup or salad for each guest and a shared dessert.

Johnny Carino’s in Hamburg offers a Valentine’s Dinner for Two February 9-18. Dinner includes one appetizer, house or caesar salad, bread, two entrees, and two desserts.

Shakespeare and Co. in Hamburg is celebrating Valentine’s Day all week from Feb 9 to Feb 18. They offer a four course dinner menu, as well as a brunch menu for those who prefer brunch dates.

Wild Thyme Cooking School is hosting a Chef’s table dinner date night, which includes a Valentine’s wine pairing and a four-course dinner. The class is a demonstration style event and guests are welcome to bring their own additional wine or beverage to enjoywith the dinner.

 

Valentine’s Day Events in Lexington

Wild Thyme hosts hands-on cooking classes. On Feb 9 at 6:30 pm learn how to make romantic desserts like homemade creme brûlée, chocolate dipped tuxedo strawberries, and orange chocolate mousse from scratch. There will also be a Cupid’s Feast hands-on class on Feb 17 at 6:30 pm where couples make a four-course Valentine’s meal.

Talon Winery hosts a Valentine’s Dinner Benefit Concert on Feb 9 at 7 pm. Enjoy a candlelight dinner, wine, dessert, and music by Ralph Curtis & The Nashville Imposters.

Feb 9-10 & 16-17, Holly Hill Inn hosts a celebration of foods of love in three-course and seven-course menus. Then on Feb 14, its annual Aphrodisiacs seven-course dinner. They also serve a three-course Sweetheart Brunch on Feb 17-18 from 11 am to 2 pm.

Spend a romantic evening in the Eastern Kentucky foothills at Carter Caves’ Valentine’s Dinner Theatre night: Feb 9 – 10 at 7 pm. The night includes a buffet style dinner, followed by a special performance of “Red Skeleton: Remembered” and overnight stay in the Lewis Caveland Lodge.

The Valentine’s Getaway at Cumberland Falls is on Feb 9 – 10. The Saturday night package includes a lodge room, dinner, and a show for two: Murder and Merriment, an interactive murder mystery dinner theatre troupe. Breakfast the next day is also included.

Feb 10, Woodford Reserve is all about sharing the love – the love of food and bourbon. Bring your special someone to celebrate Valentine’s Day with an evening of distillery tours, a beautiful four-course plated meal, cash bar, and live music. The evening begins at 6 pm with welcome cocktails, tours begin at 6:30 pm, followed by dinner at 8 pm.

Midway hosts Midway Chocolate Stroll on Feb 10 at 10 am. Stroll down Midway’s Historic Main & Gratz Streets where each business will have a chocolate treat for you, as well as Valentine’s Day Specials. Have your Chocolate Stroll ticket stamped at 10 locations and drop it off at Midway Sweet Tooth Candy Store for a prize drawing. Also, stop by Equus Run Vineyards from noon to 4 pm for their Kisses & Calories Open House.

Celebrate Valentine’s Day at Man O’ War Harley Davidson at their Roses & Riders Valentine’s Party on Feb 10 at 9 am. The event includes a donut social followed by a special Valentine Workshop, along with refreshments and door prizes.

Feb 11 & 18, Jean Farris Winery & Bistro offers an intimate Valentine Barrel Tasting. They offer barrel samples of their 2014 Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Syrah, and Red Head Blend Wines, as well as glasses of Champagne and Rose Cava. A glass of each with ticket price. Servers pass trays of house-made truffles, macrons, and chocolate covered strawberries. This Valentine’s Day event is offered on the Sunday before and after Valentine’s Day from 2 pm to 5 pm. Must be 21 years old or older to attend event.

Hooters on Richmond Road is giving singles and scorned lovers a chance to destroy photos of their exes in return for a plate of wings. At their Shred ’em and Forget ’em event, you can put a picture of your ex through a shredder and get a BOGO coupon for 10 boneless wings on Feb 14.

Waveland State Historic site is serving a special Valentine’s Day Tea on Feb 13 at 2 pm and Feb 14 at 6:30 pm. The event includes savory food, delicious tea served by period dressed interpreters, and a tour of Waveland Mansion. Call for reservations.

 

Valentine’s Hotel Packages

The Campbell House offers a Valentine’s Day Package: Spend the holiday with your someone special and receive deluxe overnight accommodations, champagne, a cheese tray, and chocolate covered strawberries delivered to your room. The package also includes breakfast for two in Kilbern’s restaurant the following morning and a late checkout.

Clarion Hotel offers Cupid’s Creation: Includes a meal for two in Cortland’s Restaurant plus champagne and strawberries delivered to your room for dessert. The package requires at least a three days advance booking.

Lyndon House Bed & Breakfast offers three separate Valentine’s packages. A Classic Valentine package includes a bouquet of flowers, champagne, dinner at a nearby restaurant with a $100 gift certificate. A Bistro Valentine package includes a bottle of wine from one of Kentucky’s premier vineyards and a $50 Bistro dinner card. A Simple Valentine package is about being the right partner and includes a bouquet of flowers in addition to one nights accommodations. Lyndon House also offers a Bed, Breakfast & Ballet package that includes a bouquet of flowers, champagne, and 2 tickets to the Lexington Ballet production of My Fair Lady. 

 

Valentine’s Day Desserts

Gigi’s Cupcakes, located on Richmond Road, offers full-size and mini cupcake dozen boxes with specialty Valentine flavors: Dark Chocolate Cherry, Strawberry Stuffed French Toast, White Chocolate Raspberry, and Scarlett’s Red Velvet.

La Petite Délicat has macaroons in a variety of flavors, including red velvet and chocolate raspberry, which are available in Valentine macaron gift boxes.

Magee’s Bakery on Main Street offers Valentine-themed cookies and cupcakes.

Martine’s Pastries on Industry Road has macarons, Valentine-themed cookies, red velvet cakes, and a box with six mini cakes.

Midway Bakery has Valentine’s sweets available, including a Nutella stuffed chocolate cupcake with raspberry frosting.

Mondelli’s Bake Shop on Pimlico Pkwy has an assortment of Valentine-themed cookies, cupcakes, cakes, and other Valentine novelties.
